This is unfortunate, as it is such a beautiful anime in so many ways.‘The Kitchen’ Review: An Elegant and Timely Tale of Community in a Besieged London Tower BlockĪ remake of the 1997 Norwegian film of the same name and Nolan’s first picture for Warner Bros., “Insomnia” stars Al Pacino as a homicide detective investigating the murder of a teenage girl in Alaska. For this anime specifically I also recommend watching several episodes at once, as it makes it less exhausting than watching it weekly. I believe it would have worked much better if I had seen it dubbed. I'm not sure what the exact reason for this work's problem is, which despite being great in some ways is tiring in others. Perhaps the lack of cliffhangers at the end of episodes sometimes makes a lot of difference. It may be because watching an episode gives the impression as if we already knew everything, even if the work is running away from clichés. Maybe that's because of the lack of a big problem to captivate, even if the moments I was actually watching it didn't bother me. It's missing something to make people want to see the next episode and in that sense it's dull. However, the problem is watching more episodes, because it gives you a tremendous indisposition. My first impression was positive and one of surprise, as I was expecting it to be a doldrums. Watching just one or two episodes of this work, in no way gives the feeling that it is monotonous, mainly because the characters are good and it's nice to see the relationship between them. Even the novel progressing, running away from clichés, being very beautiful, with charismatic characters, and moving stories. The anime isn't as dull as I feared, but it's still pretty hard to watch. I was originally going to rate it a 7/10, but removed a point to count for the fact that I just didn't really enjoy this anime very much. I felt mildly disappointed as the show went on, and I feel as though there were many possibilities missed to improve the overall quality. I feel as though this anime would be something to put on in the background - not to focus on by itself, but just have on while working on homework or drawing, whatever. felt too boring and bland, as previously mentioned. quite nice, the art is pretty, but the story, pacing, characters, etc. The art scenes with the starry skies, golden clouds, or shots focusing on Isaki were beautiful, and the animators definitely did a good job on those. There were definitely many scenes that moved me, and I related heavily with the main characters and their issues with insomnia/sleeping disorders, but most of the characters felt quite bland and unoriginal. I felt sort of bored throughout the story, as if I was just watching it for the sole purpose to watch it rather than for enjoyment. Insomniacs after school is not a bad anime, but neither is it a good one. The only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 would be that I would've loved to learn more! About the side characters and about the rest of the main characters stories and perhaps how their backgrounds continue to influence them. But as a slice of life, romance with a pinch of drama it's perfect to me. with a very clear goal/focus and or more "action" this might not be for you. The soundtrack is beautiful and suprised me several times. It reminded me of shows like Skip and loafer, Hyouka and Kimi ni todoke. The beautiful animation combined, shots and sound design really pull you in the world the characters live in (Aka Japan in summer time) and makes the show instantly feel nostalgic. I can imagine why some (the minority I believe) may find the show boring, but for me this show depicts feelings of finding safety love, friendship, "purpose" and healing in such a beautiful and soft way. A wholesome more realistic story about two struggling teens who find each other.
